Principle Impressionist painter. Due to problems with his vision, his art evolved and his paintings grew significantly more abstract. Monet’s art levitates towards abstraction composed of colorful patches. After an operation Monet was forced to wear glasses, but he painted until his death, and was exceptionally productive. He was one of few painters who gained public acknowledgement, was well received by critics, and achieved financial stability during his lifespan. Most renowned paintings: Waterloo Bridge, The Marina, Water-Lily Pond, Impression – Sunrise.
