The Kiss

Painted in 1907 during Gustav Klimt’s “Golden Phase”, is one of his most famous works. The painting depicts a pair of lovers against a gold background, at the edge of a field of flowers. It seems that the love that the couple shares is eternal. The Kiss has fin-de-siècle characteristics, conveyed in the opulence and sensuality of the lovers.
